The East Coast received a taste of what it’s like to feel a tremor earlier today when a 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit 34 miles northwest of Richmond, Virginia and could be felt throughout the East Coast. Twitter was buzzing shortly afterward with reports from Boston, Toronto and New York as well as southern states North Carolina and Atlanta feeling the tremors from the earthquake. Fortunately, no major damage was reported.

While most East Coast tweeters seem to be freaking out, those from the West Coast felt that the 5.9 magnitude should have been a walk in the park compared to what they’ve experienced in the past. Actor Tahj Mowry riled up his followers when he tweeted:

Definitely laughin’ at all these scared East coasters. We pros over on the West side. Lol #getwithit. OMG be easy, it wasn’t even a big earthquake. Wow. Yall wack.

Meanwhile, singer Pleasure P labeled the earthquake a ploy by the government:

Man thats the government with that bull sh*t earth quakes don’t hit the east [coast]….People are asking me how can the government make a earth quake hit the east coast, the same way the can send a man to the moon or blow up some shit with the push of a button. I feel that there is so much s**t we don’t know about.
