Apple mastermind Steve Jobs dies at 56. Steve Jobs 1955 − 2011. R.I.P.

Steve Jobs, the mastermind behind Apple’s iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes, has died, Apple said. Jobs was 56.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today,” read a statement by Apple’s board of directors. “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”
The homepage of Apple’s website this evening switched to a full-page image of Jobs with the text, “Steve Jobs 1955-2011.”
Clicking on the image revealed the additional text: “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
Jobs co-founded Apple Computer in 1976 and, with his childhood friend Steve Wozniak, marketed what was considered the world’s first personal computer, the Apple II.
Industry watchers called him a master innovator — perhaps on a par with Thomas Edison — changing the worlds of computing, recorded music and communications.
In 2004, he beat back an unusual form of pancreatic cancer, and in 2009 he was forced to get a liver transplant. After several years of failing health, Jobs announced on Aug. 24, 2011 that he was stepping down as Apple’s chief executive.

Windows Phone made a temporary duo out of Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar and sleep-rave producer Nosaj Thing for their Me promo series. Of the five beats Nosaj Thing brought to the arranged table, Lamar picked one that sounds like a robot slow-blinking tears out of its eyes. Lamar’s verses weigh the seduction of dollar-chasing against the adrenaline rush of a real lover’s touch, but like a true Californian, he seems to side with neither, ultimately lauding gas pedal-pushing above all other feelings. via fader

LAPD Det. claims in ‘Murder Rap’ that Sean Combs and Suge Knight orchestrated 2Pac & Biggie murders

Detective Greg Kading says that key documents have been concealed.
In his upcoming book Murder Rap, due October 4th, former LAPD Homicide Detective Greg Kading claims that the police department has “extensive tapes and documents” with confessions from those involved in the murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.
According to LA Weekly, Kading was cut from the case right when he was approaching closing the file. An informant told Kading that he was offered $1 million to kill Tupac and Suge Knight, and that Sean “Diddy” Combs commissioned ‘Pac’s murder in September 1996.

Sprint scores iPhone 5 exclusive thanks to $20 billion deal with Apple?

Geller | Oct 3rd, 2011 at 02:29PMThe Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sprint has entered into an agreement with Apple to purchase over $20 billion worth of iPhones over the next four years — that’s around 30 million iPhones. It’s said that Sprint won’t even break even on the transaction until 2014, which is surely a huge risk on Sprint’s part, but why? I have been going back and forth for weeks with one of my incredibly solid industry contacts on a piece of information that I couldn’t really process at first — information that is so unbelievable, even from a source this solid, that I couldn’t report it. With this new WSJ report on an Apple/Sprint deal, however, it doesn’t look so crazy. Hit the break for more.
I have been told that Sprint will be getting the iPhone 5 — yes the real iPhone 5, not the iPhone 4S — as an exclusive. And it will be a 4G WiMAX device. AT&T and Verizon would launch the iPhone 4S and get the iPhone 5 some time in the first quarter of next year as an LTE device. Globally, the iPhone 5 might be available as a 4G HSPA+ device.
